Chief Executive Officer / Partner
Marleen Evertsz is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of GoldRepublic. Previously, she was Managing Director at trading firm Optiver, where she oversaw all U.S. operations and managed more than 150 options traders. After returning to the Netherlands, she realized how difficult it was to invest in physical precious metals.
This insight led to the founding of GoldRepublic. Her passion and entrepreneurial drive have since gained broader recognition. For example, Quote recently named her one of their “favorite power women.”

Chief Technical Officer
Alex Butter is chief technical officer at GoldRepublic. He has a background in the financial sector and has led large-scale IT projects. He previously worked at several major banks and has extensive experience in the financial sector.
He is responsible for GoldRepublic’s online trading platform, which has proven successful and is now licensed to several major international parties.

Precious Metals Specialist
Bart Brands is the precious metals specialist at GoldRepublic. He is a Security Intelligence Professional and security expert with an exceptional passion for gold and silver. Before joining GoldRepublic, Bart was co-founder and chairman of the European Blockchain Foundation and runs his own advisory firm “2ADVISE.”
Today, he is the face of GoldRepublic and informs clients, the press, and other parties about the latest developments in precious metals and macroeconomic news.

Director
Nick Finson has held the role of director at GoldRepublic since January 2022. He joined the company as Head of Operations in 2019. In this role, he focused on strategy and logistics. Nick is responsible for the precious metals trade, the customer support team, and business relations.
Before joining GoldRepublic, Nick worked at Rabobank and ABN AMRO MeesPierson. He holds a Master’s degree in Finance from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Global Content Creator and Podcast Host
Alexej is responsible for GoldRepublic’s international content. As editor, podcast host, and producer, he builds the brand’s worldwide online presence with long-form video content for English- and German-speaking audiences.

Advisor
Willem Middelkoop is an entrepreneur and investor who gained recognition earlier in his career as a photojournalist, columnist, and television commentator in the field of financial markets.
In 2008, he founded AmsterdamGold and the Commodity Discovery Fund. He has written a series of successful books on these topics. Middelkoop is a member of the Advisory Council of the London-based Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF).

Advisor
Piet Klaver was at the helm of SHV Holdings, the largest non-listed family business in the Netherlands, from 1998 to 2006. He subsequently served as a member of the supervisory boards of, among others, PostNL, ING, Dura Vermeer, and Blokker. He is currently a cattle farmer in the north of North Holland.
